A great specimen from this famous locality, consisting of large Fluorite crystals perimorphed by Quartz thus in turn perimorphed by Sphalerite and thus in turn perimorphed by more drusy Quartz. A great example of the deposition of different minerals onto one another.

The Fluorite fluoresces in a vibrant blue as is common for Fluorite from this classic region. The fluorescence can be seen through the Quartz also.

Specimen has a cut base.

Location- Frazer’s Hush Mine, Rookhope, Weardale, County Durham, England, UK.

Dimensions- 16 × 9 × 15 cm. Weight- 1.9 Kg.

Size Range- Large Cabinet.

Largest Crystal- Fluorite 50mm encased. Sphalerite 10mm. Quartz average 8mm.

Condition- Very Good.

Specimen includes- 1 Card(s) of Provenance. Ex- James Hutchins Collection.
